3 Love Conquered All

Nearly two thousand years ago Jesus Christ gave his life at Calvary that sin might be put away, and sinners receive the gift of eternal life. He did this because he loved them and wanted them with him in heaven. The Son of God came from heaven and went down into the dust of death, so his creatures might go free. Thick spiritual darkness, the fear of death, and the power of Satan hung over the world like an ominous cloud but the love that brought the Lord Jesus to the cross to die for sinners conquered it all. God commended his love towards us that while were yet sinners Christ died for us.

At Calvary, a real Savior died for real sinners. The Saviors heart was full of love towards perishing mankind. He determined to do whatever was required so they might be saved. That meant going all the way to the cross and giving his life a sacrifice for sin. Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures. Only through faith in the Crucified One and the work he did on the cross can our sins ever be forgiven. The moment we place our faith in him is the moment we find a perfect acceptance in his love that will never change. It will not change in this life or in all the eternity to come.

After he died on the cross his body was taken down and laid in a grave. For three days his cold, lifeless body lay in the darkness of a sealed tomb. Early on the third day, women followers of the Lord Jesus went to the grave to anoint his body with spices only to make a startling discovery.

Love Conquered All 4

The stone over the mouth of the grave had been rolled away, and the body of the Lord Jesus was not inside. Instead, two angels in shining garments stood where the body had once been and told the women, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here but risen. After this, the Lord Jesus showed himself alive to his disciples for forty days before being taken up to heaven to sit on the right hand of God.

The One who died on the cross became the conqueror over the grave not only for himself but for all those who would believe on him.

And in that love that conquered all, he has made all those who come to him more than conquerors too. A scripture in Romans Chapter 8 reads, We are more than conquerors through him that loved us. When a sinner believes on the Lord Jesus as their Savior his loves takes hold of them and will never let them go. The passage in Romans, Chapter 8 continues, For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Ed Meusch never let go of his wife in that terrible wave, and the Lord Jesus will never let go of anyone who has placed his trust in him. He loves you and wants you to come to him to be his for all eternity. His love truly has conquered all for you. Wont you believe on him so that you might be his? Whosoever believeth on him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
