When you examine your life before him there is no substitute for integrity. He wants you to be honest and recognize your sin as something hateful and detestable. He wants you to recognize where sin is also, namely, in your heart. And he wants you to give a honest account of it all by confessing to him that you are a sinner.

When you examine your own life and miss-state your condition to over-inflate your standing before God, you commit a fraudulent scandal that will never satisfy God. He knows better. God has kept a perfect account of your life, and any lies about yourself will be discovered by him. You need the integrity to confess that you are a sinner, because only then can God unfold his marvelous grace to you.

What wondrous grace he has to unfold! Before the foundation of the world was laid, God made a plan to send his Son into the world where he would give his life for sinners. Through his Sons atoning death on the cross, God provided a way for lost sinners to be presented "faultless" before his throne. The blood of Jesus Christ Gods Son cleanseth us from all sin. (1 John 1:7) Think of the wonder of his love! The sins of a lifetime are washed away the moment a sinner places his faith in Christ! With such mercy and love from God above, it is tragic that people persist in deceiving themselves about the true state of their soul.

When it comes to accounting practices in business, there is no substitute for integrity. Likewise, when it comes to giving an account of yourself before God, integrity is vitally necessary.

You need to see yourself as a ruined sinner before you will ever see your need of the Savior. You might give a casual intellectual assent to some Christian truths, but you will never have a saving faith in Jesus Christ until you know you are a sinner before God.

Multitudes pass through life never seeing their need of Christ. Unless there is a change in their hearts, they will be judged before the great white throne. God who has kept perfect accounts of each one will judge them according to their works. "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God: and another book was opened which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written according to their works." (Revelation 20:12) The terrible end of this great multitude who never saw the awfulness of their sin is described in the strongest language possible And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:14-15)

You cannot escape from God who keeps a faultless accounts of our thoughts and actions, recording all our sins. But there is a way to escape from the punishment your sins deserve. The way of escape is by believing on the Savior. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12) Won't you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ who died, so you could be presented faultless before his throne?
